Restoration wooden WWII memorial cross
In Diemen, home town of Schitterend, there is an old wooden WWII memorial cross which had to be restorated after many, many years in the field. The city council of Diemen requested Schitterend to restore this cross and to add v-carved lettering (for more depth) in white paint.
...And so I started: I started off with sanding the top layers of paint, which made the deterioration of the wood clearly visible. Then The added, several times, a primer layer and coating using an oil paint. After that step I painted the V-carved letters with the requested white color. I finished the memorial cross just in time for the national annual commemoration of the fallen during WWII.
